Luc Decat

Luc began his career in the life sciences industry in 1990, starting in sales at Ipsen Benelux as a Key Account Manager in Urology. He then moved to Bristol Myers Squibb as a District Sales Manager, and later to Novartis, where he served as National Sales Manager.

In 1998, Luc became a self-employed consultant specializing in recruitment for the life sciences sector, focusing on pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biotech, and diagnostics in the EMEA region. In 2002, he co-founded Novellas Healthcare (formerly Denewet, Decat & Saelen) with two partners. As a co-owner, Luc oversees the delivery of various services to the European life sciences industry, including:

  • Retained recruitment
  • Interim recruitment
  • Board member appointments
  • Contract consultants in QA, QC, R&D, clinical research, marketing, sales, and medical fields
  • Development and management of patient retention programs for clinical trials

Over the past 20 years, Luc has built a substantial network at both the C-suite and board levels throughout the EMEA region, as well as on an operational level with professionals in R&D, clinical research, market access, business development, sales, marketing, medical affairs, regulatory affairs, and QA.

Our activities enable us to connect with key industry representatives and authorities. This network keeps us informed about the progress of various compounds and companies’ interests in market licensing opportunities, particularly from China. We currently have several ongoing licensing campaigns and are looking to represent an increasing number of clients from the PRC.
